Making invisible children visible and empowered

According to a survey by Save the Children India, there are around 2 million children in street situation (CiSS) in urban areas of Indian cities. These children, often described as the “invisibles”, are highly vulnerable to forced labour, trafficking, sexual abuse, and exploitation.

Piaggio India has taken the initiative to make these invisibles visible in association with Save the Children, India.

The starting point is to help them acquire a legal identity, so that they can gain better access to their rightful benefits and entitlements especially through a host of government schemes. The plan is to then provide them with appropriate skilling opportunities. This will empower them to be productive members of the community, living with dignity.
